General Questions
What are your park hours?
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily. On cruise ship days (weekdays), we open at 8:00 AM. We’re open every day including holidays.
Do you have sloths?
No. Gumbalimba Park no longer has or offers sloth encounters. If you wish to see a sloth, you’ll need to visit another location.
Is the park open on holidays?
Yes! We’re open on Semana Santa, Independence Day (Sept 15), Labor Day, Christmas, and New Year’s.

Yes! Children 12 and under pay $25 (vs. $35 for adults) for the Park Experience. Infants enter free.
Can I pay with credit card?
Yes! We accept credit cards, Apple Pay, and Zelle. Cash (USD and Lempiras) also accepted. Note: Credit card minimum for lockers is $13.
Is there an ATM?
No. There is no ATM at the park. Bring cash for small purchases and tips.
Do you accept foreign currency?
We accept USD and Honduran Lempiras only. Canadian dollars, Euros, Yen, and other currencies are not accepted.
The Tour Experience
Do I need a guide?
Yes. A guide is included with admission and required to see the monkeys and macaws. After the guided tour, you’re free to explore on your own.
How long is the tour?
The Park Experience guided tour is about 1.5 hours. After that, you can stay at the beach/pool as long as you like (until 4 PM).
Why can't I bring bags into the park?
The monkeys roam freely and are curious about bags – they can open zippers and will take items up trees! Use our lockers ($5) to store bags safely.
Accessibility
What if I can't walk the tour?
We offer Golf Cart tours for $15 additional per person. The golf cart takes you through the entire park, with only two short walking sections (Insectarium and Pirate Cave).
Are wheelchairs allowed?
Foldable wheelchairs fit on our bus (door width ~2.5 feet). Large electric scooters don’t fit and must be left at the cruise port. We recommend the golf cart option.
Are the golf carts reserved in advance?
No. Golf carts are first-come, first-served. If all carts are in use, maximum wait time is 30-45 minutes.
Zipline Questions
What's the weight limit for zipline?
Maximum 250 lbs (113 kg) per person.
Can children do the zipline?
Yes! Children 4 years and older can participate. Young children will be accompanied by an instructor for safety.
Can I stop halfway through the zipline?
No. Once you cross the first cable, you must complete the entire course. Make sure you’re committed before starting!
What's included in the zipline tour?
Safety harness, gloves, helmet, and a full safety briefing. Professional instructors guide you throughout.
Beach & Pool
Do you provide towels?
No. Please bring your own personal towels.
Are umbrellas available?
No. Lounge chairs are available for use under trees or in the sun.
Is there a lifeguard?
Swimming is at your own risk.
Can I rent kayaks?
Yes! Single kayaks are $15/hour per person; double kayaks are $20/hour for two people. A guide is included.
Practical Information
Is there parking?
Yes. Free parking available (subject to change). The parking area is off the main road with safe entry/exit.
Are pets allowed?
No. Outside pets are not permitted to protect our resident animals.
Is there food available?
Yes! Gumbalimba Hungry Monkey offers quick meals. Fort Consolation Restaurant is our sister property nearby.
Are there restrooms?
Yes. Restrooms, outdoor showers, and changing rooms are available.
